George Selvester Art

I am a self taught artist living in Cromarty on the Black Isle.                                                         

For years I created my art under the pseudonym of Seoras Albannach (Scottish George). I have now decided to revert to drawing and painting under my own name. 

As a youngster in Edinburgh, my art teacher encouraged me to go on to art college, however I was more interested in joining the Royal Navy as an engineer, which I did at 17 years old. When I left the RN I did a fair amount of painting and drawing but not really in a serious way. I had my love of sailing to keep me busy.

Now in my twilight years I spend the summer months sailing and the winter months creatively enjoying my art. 

I paint a variety of subjects in different sizes and especially like the rich Scottish landscapes and scenes of Cromarty. I have done several commissions including portraits of pets, family members and favourite boats.
